This tarp is dedicated especially for bushcrafters and military services.
Woodland (full name Woodland CAMO), called sometimes M81, surely is the most popular and comprehensive jungle camouflage in the world. It is so good that it has remained almost unchanged since it was investigated in 1948 and it is still in use by more than 50 armies in the world!
The tarp is made of extremely packable, lightweight, waterproof, and, what is important, breathable polyester with a ripstop weave. All are packed in a comfortable bag with transportation handles.
Irregular shapes and a mix of colors make the tarp blends in with the forest surroundings even if you look from a short distance.
The other side is covered with a heat-insulating layer, which increases thermal comfort, both in hot and cold weather.
The silver cover on the other side perfectly reflects the body heat, maintaining thermal comfort, e.g. during cold nights.
During hot days, it reflects the sun’s rays, significantly lowering the temperature under the tarp.
UPF 50+
Important! The thermal insulation layer protects against UV radiation!
Laboratory tests confirm that the UV protection factor of THERMO-Tarps™ is at the highest possible level of UPF 50+:
- UVA rays responsible for skin aging – protection level 97,74%
- UVB rays responsible for skin cancer – protection level 99,92%
Usage
Thanks to the triple stitch enforcement tapes and unique loops, the THERMO – Tarp™ 4×3 / camo can be set up in many different ways.
First of all, 4m long tarp allows you to conveniently close the tarp like a tent over a hammock. It provides plenty of space and protects even x-long hammocks and their suspension system.
An additional 1 meter of length gives a much more comfortable shelter on the ground. For example, with a “type A” shelter 4x3m provides a comfortable height of 1.7m, while with 3×3 tarps, the height is only 1.1m.
THERMO-Tarp™ 4×3 allows you to build a comfortable „lavvo” – a comfortable shelter that also protects the fire from the wind. Thanks to the thermal insulation layer, the heat of the fire is reflected and provides greater thermal comfort than when using traditional materials.
IMPORTANT! – Be aware that the fabric is not fireproof! Take care that fire or sparks do not come into contact with the tarp.
On a daily basis, during family holidays, the tarp can be used to create an airy patio above the entrance of the tent or as a cover for an outdoor bathroom. Overhead, the BUSHMEN® THERMO-Tarp™ protects against heat inside and gives you the opportunity to sleep longer in the morning on hot days.
THERMO-Tarp™ is an excellent protection for your hammock (eg. BUSHBED™)

Unique construction
The unique construction of the BUSHMEN® Thermo-Tarp™ makes it not only a practical and light camping shelter. Depending on the situation, it can also turn into a practical blanket, a mattress to sleep on or a full bed, or even a stretcher. It can also be utilized as a thermal reflector. It’s a good solution while drying out clothes for example. Of course, it can be used as a signal blanket in an emergency situation.
The whole tarp can be put into a transportation bag with handles along with the bag and at the bottom. With careful folding, the tarp takes very little space – the dimensions are barely 30xØ16 cm. Thus it can be put in the flap of even a small backpack.
Loops
Specially designed loops are much easier to use than the classic ones.
The characteristic clearance between the loop tapes not only makes it easier to work in difficult conditions but also allows the tape to better fit around the lashings.
The construction of the loop allows for better distribution of the forces on the tarp edges. For this reason, we could resign from sewn reinforcements on the sides without losing strength. The loops on the corners are the most exposed to overloading, therefore we left traditional reinforcements, thanks to which our tarps are even stronger.
Transportation bag
The whole tarp can be put in a transportation bag with handles along with the bag and at the bottom. With careful folding, the tarp takes very little space – the dimensions are barely 30xØ16 cm.
Thus it can be put in the flap of even a small backpack.
If you put the hammock ridgeline through the loops of the bag you can use it as a convenient pocket for your valuables.
